USER INFORMATION |
DVUA's clients are commercial and industrial utility users.
However, this site will occasionally offer advice to residential
users. The best piece of advice to residential users is shop
around. If you live in a state that has de-regulated its electric
suppliers and you haven't switched electric suppliers, you would probably
save money if you did. The same advice applies to telephone service.
Shop around for the best rate, but be careful of offers that are too good to be true. A
popular offer right now is for a "10-10" number where you pay a flat $ .99
per call up to 20 min.
This is usually a terrible deal since you
would have to average near 10 minutes per call to save any money and the
average business call lasts about three minutes.
Also, be very careful of "slamming."
Some telephone companies
call offering to consolidate your phone bill without mentioning that they
are actually switching your carrier. This tactic is very widespread
even though it is often illegal.
Please feel free to contact us with any other questions you may have
about your residential utility costs.
